END EVENT 2026

On June 16th, Aero Team Eindhoven successfully demonstrated its autonomous Drone-to-Car docking and Battery-Swapping system during our 2026 End Event at TU/e.

During the live demonstration, our drone autonomously approached and landed on a vehicle-mounted docking platform, secured itself, and completed an automatic battery exchange without human intervention. After the flight, guests had the chance to explore the technology up close, meet our eight engineering sub-teams, and see the Battery-Swap mechanism working repeatedly indoors.

This milestone brings us one step closer to our long-term goal: enablingIn-Air Battery-Swapping between electric aircraft. Next year, we will continue toward Drone-to-Drone docking by developing a custom receiver drone and further improving our control systems, docking platform, and Battery-Swap technology.
